Aim: The medicinal plant Merremia gangetica Linn., family - Convolvulaceae, traditionally being used by the local healers due to its multiple therapeutic indications. Present review aims collect currently available data on ethno-medicinal information and research updates M. gangetica. Material Methods: Available books related traditional folklore uses of were searched from plants published articles. Along with various researches, name reporting tribe their place using plant, vernacular names, parts along specific methods administration, if any, through either external or internal usages also noted. Results: Across globe in 2 countries 8 states India, has been reported for management 32 diseases conditions, like whole leaf, root seed alone other drugs are applications administration. Maximum indicated treatment rheumatism, neuralgia, headache, cough, etc. reported. Whole maximum application 14, followed leaf 8, 4 1 condition. Pharmacological studies such as anti-arthritis, hepatoprotective, nephroprotective activities, Conclusion: is a ethnomedicinal medicine establish ethnic claims, need scientific evaluation pharmacological clinical studies.
